With six days left until Christmas, I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone that I have worked with for such a wonderful and enjoyable year. Together, we produced some of my best work to date, so thank you for all your support. Whether you chose to go with Kelvin Young Photography for your wedding/event photography, or you have read my blog regularly, THANK YOU! I still have a few exciting shoots coming up in the last twelve days of 2010 so stay tuned for more photos! Fresh snow has covered Toronto in the past weeks so I wish you all a safe and happy white Christmas! For those of you not celebrating Christmas, enjoy your holidays and all the best in the New Year!

Here’s a few strips from my favourite comic What the Duck:

Last month, I achieved the title of Apple Certified Pro Aperture 3 by completing an Apple Pro Certification Exam. The Apple Certified Pro program creates a benchmark for assessing an end user’s proficiency in a specific Apple Pro application. By taking and passing the Apple Certified Pro exam, a user is given Apple Certified Pro status, which allows them to distinguish themselves to colleagues, employers, and prospective clients as skilled users of the chosen software application.

Aperture is Apple’s professional digital photography software solution that allow photographers to manage, edit and prepare their work. I chose to prepare for the exam by myself instead of taking a course at an Apple Training Centre because I have been using the software almost on a daily basis for work. Aperture users interested in taking the exam can either take the course at an Authorized Training Centre, or study by themselves like I did by purchasing the Apple Pro Training Series textbook.

The below zero weather in Toronto this morning reminds me that Winter is near. November marks the last few weddings for my 2010 wedding season and as I get more free time during my weekends, I will start working on some personal projects and creatives. Check my blog often to view my latest work! Here is a comic strip from my favourite series of comics – What The Duck. This happens to me all the time, although I never tried replying someone like that.

Last weekend, many photographers like myself visited the twice a year Photographic, Video & Digital Imaging Show at the International Centre in Mississauga. This year, even more manufacturers were there to showcase their latest cameras and technologies, including Nikon, Canon, Pentax, Sandisk and Sigma. Lots of hands on opportunities and workshops attracted thousands to the event. Here’s a few snapshots I took throughout the afternoon

Last week, I hosted the grand opening party for my Vietnam Photo Exhibit at Vistek Mississauga. This exhibit showcases a body of work featuring my latest photo assignment with non profit organization ORBIS International in Central Vietnam, where I documented life changing moments for many people as ORBIS volunteer medical faculty restored and preserved sight to those who could not access it due to financial issues or the lack of medical technology and knowledge in the developing country.

Lots of friends, family and photographers came by to celebrate with me. Thank you for all those that made it to my opening reception last week. To those of you that could not make it, the exhibit will be running until the end of the month so feel free to go check it out when you are in the area.
