Over the weekend, I photographed the WOWtv Y&Y 如意牌廣告歌 超級聲光大道 Singing Contest Final Stage at Richmond Hill Centre for the Performing Arts. This unique singing contest brought together eleven extremely talented contestants that gave judges a really hard time deciding who is the best.
For the first round, each contestant sang their self selected song.
After the first round, Hong Kong singer 方珈悠 Jaime Fong performed a few songs while the judges made their calculations
For round two, seven of the eleven contestants were eliminated, leaving us with the top four. They had a very unique way of announcing the results. Contestants were brought up in small groups and were each given a can of Y&Y food product. The contents inside the can determined their eligibility to move on to round two!
The top four performed a self selected fast song and judges had to once again make a tough decision. Hong Kong singer 陳柏宇 Jason Chan performed a few songs from his latest CD while the judges finalized their results.
The top two contestants Steven and Lillian each sang the Y&Y Commercial Theme song. Congratulations to Lillian, who took home the top prize of $3000 cash, along with an opportunity to audition with Sony Music Entertainment!
